Chat with CSV data
Make a small, well-labeled dataset useful for conversational product discovery.
Method: Convert to text. Do not upload the CSV as though it were a database connection. For totals, calculations and frequently changing prices, point visitors to the live source.
Add CSV data to Chatbit
Open the CSV in a spreadsheet editor. Select the relevant records and turn them into readable text with a field name beside each value. Save as TXT or paste into a Chatbit text source.
Open your chatbot's data sources to add the prepared content. Follow the source setup guide if this is your first bot.
Prepare useful source material
Keep units, currency and date formats explicit. Preserve product codes exactly, and explain blank values instead of letting the bot guess what they mean.
Try these questions
Which model comes in blue? What size options are listed for this item?
Compare each answer with the original content. Ask a follow-up, and try one question the source does not cover to check that the bot avoids guessing.
Keep the content current
When the original changes, update or replace the corresponding Chatbit source and test the affected answers again. Remove superseded copies so the bot is not working from conflicting versions.
Put the answers on your website
Once the answers are ready, adjust your welcome message and suggested questions. Find your website installation guide to publish the bot, or improve its responses before sharing.
Frequently asked questions
Can I combine this with other sources?
Yes. Add relevant website pages, files, text and Q&A to the same chatbot. Keep their facts consistent and check your plan's source limits.
Should I import everything at once?
Start with a small set that answers your most common questions. Check the extracted text and answers, then add more material where it fills a real gap.
