Chat with Word documents
Make answers in your Word manuals and service documents available through a website chatbot.
Method: File upload. The bot uses the uploaded copy. Later edits in Word do not update that source automatically.
Add Word documents to Chatbit
Upload the DOC or DOCX file in your chatbot's sources. Review the text that Chatbit extracts, especially headings, lists and tables, then save the source.
Open your chatbot's data sources to add the prepared content. Follow the source setup guide if this is your first bot.
Prepare useful source material
Accept or reject tracked changes in a clean copy. Remove editorial comments and make sure the final wording names the product or policy it describes.
Try these questions
What does the onboarding process include? Which information do I need to send before the project starts?
Compare each answer with the original content. Ask a follow-up, and try one question the source does not cover to check that the bot avoids guessing.
Keep the content current
When the original changes, update or replace the corresponding Chatbit source and test the affected answers again. Remove superseded copies so the bot is not working from conflicting versions.
Put the answers on your website
Once the answers are ready, adjust your welcome message and suggested questions. Find your website installation guide to publish the bot, or improve its responses before sharing.
Frequently asked questions
Can I combine this with other sources?
Yes. Add relevant website pages, files, text and Q&A to the same chatbot. Keep their facts consistent and check your plan's source limits.
Should I import everything at once?
Start with a small set that answers your most common questions. Check the extracted text and answers, then add more material where it fills a real gap.
